"French classes have given me even more than the ability to communicate (a necessity once my daughter married a Frenchman): I found focus and escape through learning. Our classes are intelligently structured, with interesting themes - both informative and fun. The time and patience given to me by our teacher has ensured my continuous progress." Joyce
I have always had a love of French language, food and culture. Several years ago, when I discovered that there was a branch of Alliance Française here on the Gold Coast, I was naturally drawn to it.
Learning a new language in a relaxed environment with interesting people and professional teachers makes for a great experience. Social occasions, such as film nights and monthly conversation mornings just add to the mix. Not only does it give you confidence with the language, it’s fun! Dennis.
"Learning French keeps our minds active in retirement and the quality of teaching is superb. My wife and I began classes with the Alliance Française in preparation for a trip to France and have never stopped. Our class has become like family to us and we look forward to going every week. Come and join us!" Tony
I enrolled in a class with Alliance Française Gold Coast more than 16 years ago, and have been going on and off ever since!
Attending classes and joining in on the social and cultural events has been the perfect way to immerse myself in the beautiful French language and to meet new like-minded friends :) Jill.
I’ve been a member of the Alliance Française Gold Coast for 7 years. We very much enjoy our classes under the skilled supervision of our teacher, Nicole, who encourages a balance of dedicated study and informal learning through class discussion. We originally began learning French in preparation for a visit to France, with the desire to be able to converse a little with locals when there; we have got so much more than that through our time spent at the AF - wonderful, life-long relationships with class mates and our teacher to name just one. Jim.
In 2013 some friends and I were planning a trip to France, so at the beginning of that year, I decided to start learning the language. The reason was not only to communicate but also, to keep my brain active, as I’m not getting younger. After 4 years, I still find it as enjoyable and as challenging as when I started. The teachers are French, and they are friendly, helpful and very good at their job. I love the interaction with the other students, and because there are some social gatherings, I’ve had the chance to meet people from the other classes. I plan to continue with the course, as it has become part of my life. Diane.
